On 19 August 2020 Desi Jockeys Asian Wedding DJs were invited to provide the Asian DJ Service at the wedding of Faiza & Minhal. This was our first post COVID-19 event. I must take a moment to express how well this Muslim Wedding was planned. This Event was a Nikah and Walima which took place at Manchester’s finest Asian Wedding Venues “The Mere in Knutsford”. With restrictions of a maximum of 30 guests, the bride and groom didn’t hold back on the Wedding Entertainment they booked for their guests. At this event we provided Faiza & Minhal with the Party DJ Package Standard. Due to the size of the event this setup was sufficient. The event was not really a dancy affair and started when the groom and guests entered The James Braid Suite at the Mere in Knutsford to the sound of the Dhol Players. This was followed by a selection of romantic Bollywood songs as the guests took their seats. Shortly after the Nikah (Islamic Wedding Ceremony) took place. An announcement was made, Faiza the bride entered the suite to applause by the guests. We played the requested song “Mere Sohneya” as she walked towards the stage in her sparkling dress which was lit by the LED Spot Light (provided and operated by Desi Jockeys). She was then received on the beautifully decorated stage by Minahl the groom. As the photographer and videographer Salman Siddique Films took shots of the couple, food was served by Manchester’s very own Royal Nawaab caterers. All this in an elegant setting at the Mere Golf Resort & Spa accompanied by Bollywood music by Manchester Asian DJs Desi Jockeys. A Wireless Microphone was provided for speeches which I must say were very good, finishing the afternoon with the Bride & Groom cutting their Wedding Cake and a farewell to the bride from her family known as the Rukhsati. After all the new normal (at least for now) isn’t too bad. You can still get married and have your loved ones around you on your special day.
